Short for Smart Asset Manager, SAM is like adding another member to your programming team. Available in Cablecast v7.5.0 and beyond, SAM moves or copies content from your video server to alternative storage locations such as a SAN (storage area network), NAS (network attached storage) or Cablecast Cloud Storage.
You can use SAM to set up an archiving rule that automatically moves content to archive storage if it's not scheduled to be used within a certain number of days. Another rule can retrieve that same file from the archive if it's scheduled.
SAM’s rules-based backup feature copies media files to a designated file store for safekeeping. You can also set up a rule to manually trigger the archiving of an individual show. There's so much you can automate with SAM.
