Native Automatic Closed Captioning
New interface controls in Cablecast version 7.4 allow users to add captions to live input feeds – including SDI or IP-based sources – and file-based programming. Intelligent speech-to-text conversion is performed using Cablecast’s new captioning engine running in the cloud, with a usage-based billing model.
Software Update Notifications
We're excited to announce that Cablecast 7.3 adds the ability to get maintenance release notifications and downloads directly in the Cablecast web interface. A banner notification on your Cablecast Dashboard will alert you when a maintenance release installer is available to download. Simply download the installer and run it when it's convenient for you.
Dynamic Audio Normalization
Audio Normalization is a great addition as it will keep all of the programming coming out of your VIO server at a consistent loudness level. This is very helpful when you are receiving content from many different producers.
Pausing Active Encodes
Users can pause and resume recording/encoding during periods such as meeting breaks, minimizing the storage space needed for the resulting media file.
Tags makes it even easier for users to search and organize their content by allowing multiple defined values in a single field. While previous versions allowed customers to enter multiple, comma-separated keywords into a custom text field, the Tags field adds structure that is particularly valuable in grouping multi-word phrases. Cablecast 7.2 can also pull up a list of suggested, previously-used Tags when the operator begins typing, helping ensure metadata consistency.
