Network streaming protocols are sets of rules determining how your video data travels from wherever you are capturing it (City Hall, the Fair Grounds, or the High School gym) to wherever you are playing out or recording it.

Network stream video transport expands your video server's source capacity without the hassle of video runs or baseband input limitations.

Paired with an encoder at your event location, Cablecast VIO servers can decode the following network streaming sources natively with no additional decoder hardware:

  • Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP)
  • Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)
  • Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP)*
  • HTTP Live Streaming Protocol (HLS)**
  • Network Device Interface (NDI)***
  • Secure Reliable Transport (SRT)

*RTMP requires an RTMP server like Cablecast RTMP
**Cablecast LIVE delivers an HLS output
***Cablecast VIO servers also deliver NDI output
