This year, it's easier than ever to participate in NAB Show. Whether you’re trying to streamline your hybrid studio-to-home office broadcast workflow, launch a new streaming app, or learn how to optimize the tools you have now, NAB Show is still the place to hear about what's new first.

The Cablecast Team is making some exciting announcements in our Renaissance suite at NAB this year that you won’t want to miss! We’re also continuing our tradition of hosting meet-ups for the PEG community at NAB with adjustments to increase safety and access.
More details on those are coming soon!

If you’re planning to attend NAB in person, new health & safety rules require your immediate attention, so make sure you start planning right away. If you’re planning on attending virtually, you’ll still need to clear your calendar for sessions and demos you want to attend. Read more below on the best ways to prepare for attending NAB remotely.

Here is our essential checklist for our friends in Public, Education and Government access wanting to get the most out of NAB Show this year:

IN PERSON:

1. MAKE A VACCINE PLAN

NAB recently put out its health and safety requirements for attending in person, which includes completion of an approved vaccine course at least two weeks prior to the event. You also need to use one of their approved methods to show proof of your vaccination. If you’re already vaccinated you can submit that now. See the full health & safety details here

2. REGISTER (FOR VIRTUAL FOLKS TOO)

If you’re not 100% sure you’re going in person or you're 100% sure you're NOT going in person, register now. You have nothing to lose. It’s free until September 19 for everyone. After that, you can use our code (LV6735) to get your free exhibit hall pass. Either way, this loops you in on all the product announcements and events. You can also get started building the list of folks you want to visit at the show (or virtually).

3. BOOK A PLACE TO STAY

You can alway check your usual travel planning site, but you can also book hotels through the NAB site once you’re registered. You'll see a ‘book hotel' option immediately after you complete your registration.

EVERYONE:

4. CLEAR OCT 9-13 ON YOUR CALENDAR

NAB Show is jam-packed with sessions, demos and other events that only happen once a year and you’re going to want to be available. You can take a look at what’s announced now on the the daily NAB Show events calendars, but keep in mind many folks haven’t even posted their events yet. You’ll want to make sure you have some space held in your calendar now, especially if you’re trying to manage a remote NAB while still doing your daily grind at home. That way, your availability during show hours don't surreptitiously slip away before all your favorite vendors announce their session dates and times.

5. SCHEDULE 1-ON-1 APPOINTMENTS NOW

Make sure you are registered on NAB's Map Your Show app to view appointment scheduling options

Both in person and virtual NAB appointments are booked through the Map Your Show (MYS) app. You can register for an account here. This is a separate account login from your NAB Show registration and it can be a bit confusing because some of the site navigation overlaps, but you'll know you're logged into MYS if you can see the appointment booking options at the top of the vendor eBooths on the NAB Show website. Book appointments and book them early. Most vendors are sending less staff and limiting the number of people that can be in a booth at the same time. Even if you’re booking virtual appointments, that still means less slots during actual NAB week when everyone is in ‘NAB mode.’ More on that in the next step.

6. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ‘NAB MODE’

NAB Show is a mindset not just an event. Reaching out to companies and individuals when they are in ‘NAB mode’ can help you connect with people you might not normally reach as easily, particularly when you want to discuss something beyond the typical sales demo. Even if you’re not going in person, getting plugged into the NAB Show site and MAP YOUR SHOW platform lets you:

  • See all the virtual opportunities available
  • Favorite a list of solutions you want to explore deeper and get updates when those vendors make announcements
  • Get reminders when you add sessions and appointments to your calendar

Whether it’s making sure your documents are in order for traveling to Vegas or simply making space in your calendar for the big feature reveal from your favorite vendors, the time is now to start prepping for NAB Show 2021. To learn more about Cablecast solutions you can view NAB Show 2021, check out our eBooth. Remember you must be logged into an account to view the appointment scheduler. To get on the Cablecast NAB Updates email list, update your email preferences here.
