MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA, April 2, 2026 – Tightrope Media Systems today announced Cablecast LiveBridge, a cloud-based live streaming service designed to help municipal governments as well as PEG and community teams reliably cover concurrent live events with less complexity. The new service will be demonstrated at the 2026 NAB Show (Booth W1642) next month in Las Vegas.

Many government and community stations are asked to cover multiple meetings or live events simultaneously, but they only have a limited number of cable channels. A common workaround calls for streaming the “overflow” events on third-party platforms, but this means stations can lose Cablecast-native processes, such as consistent recording, metadata continuity, replay scheduling, series updates, and archival workflows.

To avoid third-party streaming issues, a station uses an encoder or OBS-based workflow to send a live feed to LiveBridge. Then, LiveBridge packages the stream for web or OTT via HLS delivery, and pushes the content directly to Cablecast OTT apps and Cablecast Internet Channels as live programming.

Meanwhile, automatically recorded MP4 files of each event are designed to be integrated back into Cablecast workflows, so they can be managed alongside other programming using familiar Cablecast tools and processes. If needed, stations can also use LiveBridge to simulcast to YouTube or other external platforms while keeping Cablecast as the operational “system of record” for recording and reuse of the coverage. By keeping recordings inside the Cablecast ecosystem, it reduces additional manual steps after each event ends, which reduces tool sprawl for producers and operators.

“Cablecast LiveBridge helps solve the problem of covering multiple live meetings when you only have one channel,” explained JJ Parker, co-founder and CEO of Tightrope Media Systems. “Now, you can stream that second meeting to websites and streaming apps while keeping the content within Cablecast. That means you don’t lose your replay scheduling or archiving workflows, so you keep manual steps to a minimal after the extra meeting ends.”

Designed for existing Cablecast customers, LiveBridge will be available in Summer 2026 to all Cablecast systems using the latest Cablecast software version.
